2010 September 30 - Boston MA - live download!

If you weren't at the show, or if you want to re-live it, our good friend Alan Wong has generously shared the following with us:

Live in Boston - 2010 September 30 - Boston, MA - Landsdowne Pub - WFNX Disorientation

From this page, you can download the show as 192 kbps MP3s or lossless FLAC files.

If you're at work and don't want to download files, you can stream it as well!

You can also find a link to the show at the bottom of the menu to your left (if you're reading from the Archive and not from the blog site).

As always, if you find any problems with the files, let me know and I'll try to fix them ASAP.  If you have photos or videos from the show that you'd like to share, please send them along!

Enjoy the show (again), and have a great weekend everyone!

I hope everyone out there who wanted to go to the show ended up with tickets somehow!

Many thanks to WFNX for helping to make this happen - they've always been supportive of local music, and The Sheila Divine especially, so if you see an 'FNX staff member at the venue, make sure to give them a big thumbs up for their efforts.

And if you go to the show ... well, read the previous post and help out fellow TSD fans by sharing your photos, videos, and whatever else you may have.

WFNX Disorientation - 3 days away!

If you're one of the lucky WFNX ticket winners for the big show this Thursday night over at the Landsdowne Pub, I'm jealous.  While the band is still Boston-based, yours truly is running this site from afar, in Portland, Oregon.  I really, really wish I could be there with everyone.  Alas, it just isn't meant to be.

So you're going to have to do the heavy lifting for me.

Pictures, video, scans of the setlist, or whatever you can get that you'd like to share is very welcome here at the archive.  If you'd like to write a review of the show, send it my way and I'll post it.  This site needs your input, so please be a part of it!

Please send any attachments or links to on-line photo albums, YouTube clips, etc. to:

TSDarchive@gmail.com

Please let me know how you would like to be credited for your submission (Post the photos with your name here on the archive? Just a link to another site, but nothing hosted here? Something else?), and I will do my best to update the Archive in a timely manner as new material comes in.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

Crammerock videos, lots of photos now on-line

I'm not sure if the first song of the set ("The Modern Log") was recorded, but video of the rest of TSD's Crammerock performance has been added to YouTube.

You can check out the show by visiting The Sheila Divine Archive's video section.

We've got a new photo gallery underway, also, starting with photos from the big reunion in Belgium this past weekend.

Also, a slightly belated birthday to Aaron Perrino (September 6)!

Crammerock - photos and videos

Crammerock is now history, and our first reports have arrived from our friend Tom in Belgium!

Many, many thanks to Tom for his efforts in sharing these videos and photos with us.  You should definitely check out his own TSD website, http://thesheiladivine.skynetblogs.be/.  He's got some other pictures up over there already, with promises of more pictures and video to come.

First, the setlist:

Modern Log
Ostrich
Like A Criminal
Awful Age
Walking Dead
Opportune Moment
Horses
Spacemilk
Every Year
The Amendment
Countrymen
Believer
Hum
Spirits
Automatic Buffalo (together with Stijn Meuris)

Here's "Hum" live::

"Automatic Buffalo" - Tom tells us this is "with Stijn Meuris, a Belgian singer of the band Monza and before the band Noordkaap":

Crammerock!

So, the big show is this weekend.  If any of our Belgian friends take photos or record any of the performance (audio or video) and would like to share with us here on the archive, please pass along anything via e-mail and I'll post it ASAP.  If you post something to YouTube instead, please send us a message with the URL so we can link to it.  Many thanks in advance!
If nothing turns up, oh well ... we hope those who were able to see the reunion had a great time nonetheless, and we look forward to hearing stories when the band comes back home.

Rock!

"Perfect Day" video clip from "Step Into Liquid"

So, you may know that the ultra-rare TSD track "Perfect Day" is available here in the Rarities section, and that it was used in the film "Step Into Liquid". But have you actually seen the movie? It's quite good, even for non-surfers (like me).

If you don't have time to check out the whole thing, here's the clip with the song:

New articles, fundraising updates

A rebuild of sorts is underway behind the scenes, but I've said that every month since forever, so take it for what it's worth.

In the meantime, a few pieces for you:

  • The KICKSTARTER project has been a smashing success, as the fundraising goal of $5,000 already beaten with 46 days to go (as of the posting of this update). Make sure you check the update section for new info from the band, such as information about how the money will be spent:
The studio costs $65hr so the majority will be spent in that fashion, but if the donations continue to roll in we will definitely make an awesome over the top packaged version of this album for everyone or get Richie Sambora to design a special T-shirt with rhinestones on it.

And you have to love this:
As a little primer in early September we are going into Zippah for 2 days to record a few old TSD numbers (Horses and Pacemaker) which we will send your way as soon as they're done.

  • Boston.com (August 20, 2010) wrote an article about the reformation: "Kickstart the Jams - The Sheila Divine returns, thanks to its fans"

  • From the Boston Phoenix (August 16, 2010): "The Sheila Divine reunite, tap Kickstarter to fund new album"

  • AtomicNed.com (by Chip Midnight): "The Sheila Divine is ready to record, needs our help"

  • ... and finally, a copy of the commercial that everyone's been trying to unearth for years, it seems. At long last, the Cambridge Soundworks commercial featuring "Opportune Moment":

New show (in Belgium, but still)! New album? Actual news?!

Yes! TSD is back in action!

... in Belgium, anyway. Saturday, September 4th at the Crammerock Festival

    http://www.crammerock.be/

You're on your own with translating that last link.

If any of our Belgian friends goes to the show and takes pictures or finds a way to record any portion of the performance ... well, you know how to reach the archive. You know what to do :)

    ******************

As you may know, the Archive is a fan-run website that has fallen into a state of semi-neglect over the past few months, and I have no one to blame for that but myself. But by the looks of things, business is about to pick up, at least a little bit.

I was caught off-guard, though, and am in the midst of a cross-country move - which means I don't have access to my computer at the moment, just internet blog use. So I can't get working on getting everything here up to speed just yet.

At any rate, please check back for details and additional reunion news in as timely a manner as I can post it.

    Thanks for your patience, everyone.

    Rock!

Not dead, just really, really quiet

The long rebuilding process continues, but at least the front page isn't as hideous as before.  I hope.

Any pages you click into will not have the same visual layout, but I'm working on it and hope to have everything consistent sooner than later.

You should still be able to access all of the live recordings / bootlegs, and I've updated the media player in the rarities section to include some other old favorites.

And if you're looking for some NEW favorites, perhaps, you should check out Jim Gilbert's new band, The Soft Alarm.
